This educational javascript applet solves the linear time-history dynamic response of a single-degree-of-freedom when subjected to an earthquake, so the input is a ground motion record of accelerations file.

  • The mass of the system is equal to 1, so the stiffness is computed based on the user-defined fundamental period

  • You can input your own ground motion record (in units of g) jointly with the time-step sampling

  • The height of the system is iqual to 1 and there is no deformation on the bar (shear building)
